Lots of finishes and a break!

OK, firstly, I'll get this out of the way - the last of my bunting (and the last photo of bunting for a while!)  Sorry if I've overloaded you with bunting lately!

Meet the hot fuchsia pinks -

I've also finished my ticker tape project, a travel sewing roll -

All wrapped up

From L to R: zip pocket, thread loop, needle holder, pencil holder, 3 x small pockets, 1 long pocket
Zip pocket with fab label!
And last but not least - a lovely fuscia pink gingham self-covered button for attaching the closure ribbon -

East of India grey heart ribbon which I could use in every project!
The final project I've completed this week is a girly art case for the craft fair.  (I just realised this will be another bunting photo, but kinda different!)  I love this style of using bunting as an appliqued embellishment -

I added some hand quilting along the top of the bunting and around each flag and added a lovely pearly pink button for the closure loop.  I changed this one a little inside too by adding a little pocket to the large notebook pocket.

Phew!  When I look at it all like that I can see just how busy I've been this past week!  So it's just as well we're heading off on holiday tomorrow.  We'll be gone for a week so things may be a little quiet round here.  If I get the chance I'll do a blog post that will post automatically next week.

I've prepared very carefully for our holiday - saving up lots of small hand-sewing projects for the evenings.  I've also packed a little box full of things I'll need to ensure I can be really creative with my handy work.

Hehe, just realised I still have the 'Nutella' sticker on my button jar!
I've packed my travel sewing roll, of course, wool felt, and lots of buttons and ribbons.  Oh, and I'll have to take a big bag of wadding/toy stuffing as I have a particular project in mind :)

I also have a couple of magazines that I'll be taking -

I've been sooooooo good and had these for about 2 weeks and I've not even had a peek in them!  See - the 'Simply Homemade' is still in the packet!

I've got a little collection of fun little things for Joshua to keep him amused -

Lets hope he has as much fun playing with all it as I did choosing it!

  7. So many pretty things in one post - I do love all the bunting! The ticker tape craft travelling case is a great idea, it looks fantastic! I think I need to make one of those. I've just subscribed to Making magazine, I've never read it, but had some birthday money to spend and it looks like a great craft magazine, can't wait for the first issue to arrive! Have a fantastic holiday! :) x
