Cath Kidston inspired blanket

I finally finished the crochet granny stripe blanket I started a few months ago! As it was my first ever crochet blanket it was a bit of a learning curve, but I got there in the end and I'm delighted with the results!

Isn't it a beaut?  The wool is snugly soft and the blanket was even softer after a quick wash and tumble dry :)

The yarn is New Fashion DK by Woolcraft, I bought it from Anita @mycraftlife on Instagram. Anita put the bundle together inspired by Cath Kidston colours.

Here's a pic so you can see the colours better -

Such gorgeous bright colours!

This is a Cath Kidston cup and bowl so you can see just how nicely the colours go. You can also just make out the little frilly scalloped edge I used on my blanket, I think it finishes it off perfectly!

Now that I have a lovely new (and toasty warm) blanket, Joshua also wants one! This is the colours I'll use for his -

I have started, but can I get it done in time for Christmas?!!

For now, here's  another few pics of my lovely blanket

  1. Looks like just what we need at the nights start getting colder! Love the colours,

    Rhi x

  2. Looks great and you will definitely be needing it sooner rather than later!

  3. Beautiful! Perfect Cath Kidston colours :)

  4. Today I saw that you had a new blog post when I signed into Blogger and for kicks I thought I'd click to see if maybe, just maybe, my computer would finally let me see your site. And it did!!! This is the very first time it has worked when I tried to come to your site and I am thrilled to finally get to Oooo and Ahhh over your beautiful pictures besides following you on Instagram. I'm ecstatic!

That excitement aside, your blanket is beautiful! I just love the colours and the edging and I can't wait to see Joshua's blanket finished, hopefully this won't be the one and only time that my computer lets me get to your site. Can't wait to really follow you on more than just IG!

  5. Gorgeous - such pretty colours! What a lovely snuggly blanket! Maria x

  6. LOVE the blanket!!! What a wonderfully neat job you did!!! And I love the fact that you now have a blankie to match your CK bits and bobs! :-)

  7. Well done!! I've been watching your progress on Instagram for a while now (in a non-creepy way!) and I'm so glad you've finished it; it looks gorgeous :) xx

  8. Ahhh I'm back! I cleared my cookies and cache and it worked again. Maybe that's the key somehow? Not entirely certain but I feel like leaving this window open indefinitely just in case I can't see it again later! :D

  9. Oh it is definitely a Cath Kidston blanket, one day I will do a blanket using these colours....such a wonderful combination :)

I love to hear feedback from readers of my blog - please let me know what you think!
