Patchwork embroidery

My scrap basket continually overflows...this annoys me no end as I like to think of myself as thrifty therefore no scrap is every too small to throw out....which results in having tonnes of teeny scraps which I rarely get round to using. - Do you see my dilemma!?  A couple of times in the past I've managed to give them away to willing recipients, however, now and then it is extremely satisfying to actually use some up!

Recently, I pulled out some particularly gorgeous ones that went together and just patchworked away until I had pretty squares of loveliness..

....an idea was forming!

I played about with fonts and wording on my computer and printed out some lettering that I traced onto the fabric.  I hooped up and began embroidering....

After some stitching and some more planning I took to my sewing machine to finish off my idea....

Ta-da!  How cute?? I *really* enjoyed doing this and eventually ended up with a couple more!

This time I tried a house shape with a little ribbon chimney, love this!

...and another little house -

I have given the others away, but the little house above is for me, and now hangs proudly on my sitting room wall :)

I have had some interest in these from customers so may also make a few to sell.  I've really been enjoying embroidery lately - have you noticed how I flit from craft to craft every few months?! - There just aren't enough hours in the day!
